One of the ongoing commitments of the Downstate Juniors Board of Directors is to provide our athletes with the best coaching possible. Precisely what qualifies a coach as “an excellent coach” depends, to a large degree, upon the age of the players and qualities within the coach. For example, a great coach at the college level may not be able to relate to a bunch of 10 & 11 year olds. A coach who played at high levels is not necessarily a good teacher. In fact, the coach of an undefeated team may be doing damage to his player’s abilities and psychological fitness. We strive to find, train and retain coaches who understand their players, the environment and who are qualified to teach the great game of volleyball.
Please help us to make Downstate the best possible experience! Your feedback is important and we take it very seriously. Last season, we made a number of changes, based on the results of this survey, and fully expect the same to happen again this year! While all of the questions are valuable, the most important information you can supply to us is in the free-form, type in your response boxes. The more you can tell us, the better!
This form may be filled out by a player, or a parent or guardian; in fact, we would prefer the parent/guardian and the player/athlete to EACH fill our the survey, independently. The results of this form are CONFIDENTIAL and will only be seen by the Downstate Board of Directors and coaches. UNLESS YOU SPECIFY OTHERWISE, THE INFORMATION SHARED WITH THE COACHES WILL BE ANONYMOUS. It will be used to review current coaches ( and potential coaches applying for the upcoming seasons) and as a means of feedback for improvement. Please help us to assess the abilities of those who coached you/your children. The feedback we receive will help us to identify the strengths and weaknesses of our coaches, as well as the program as a whole.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this valuable feedback!
